Dr. McNair during a trip to Ethiopia where he taught about a Biblical perspective on disability at a conference specifically designed for local people with disabilities.

Jeff McNair, Ph.D. is a professor of Special Education/moderate to severe disabilities and disability studies at California Baptist University in Riverside, California. He has been a professor since 1989 after graduating from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. He has written extensively about the inclusion of persons with various disabilities, particularly within the Christian community. Through his writing and work with the Joni and Friends Organization, he has had the opportunity to speak about disability, special education, disability ministry and disability theology in thirty countries around the world. Jeff and his wife Kathi, a career special education teacher, have been involved in ministry to and with persons with disabilities at their local church since 1974. They actually met at a disability ministry at College Church, when they were both students at Wheaton College. They founded and continue to facilitate a ministry at Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Redlands, California, that started in 1990. It is no understatement to say that besides their family, this is the passion of their lives!
