Proverbs 3:5
___________________________________________________
In teaching Proverbs 3:5, you might first teach the hand sign illustrated in the photo where the three fingers of your right hand are placed on the palm of your left hand with left hand fingers extended.
"Trust
in the Lord with all your heart, don't lean on your own understanding. In
all your ways acknowledge Him, and He'll make your paths straight."
In actually teaching the verse, we have found the following useful.
When you say, "Trust in the Lord," point up,
When you say "with all your heart" point to your heart
Pause after you say "don't" then lean to the right or left and say "lean on your own understanding"
When you say "In all your ways" put your hands together and then open them out as if to say all
When you say "acknowledge Him" point up
When you say "and He'll make your paths straight" hold your hand flat with your thumb touching your nose and your palm facing to the left and then move it out from your face like you are doing the tomahawk chop. This part is the most easily memorized as they all get the idea of making your paths straight.
This is a wonderful verse to commit to memory!
